Realistic, beautiful and lifelike paintings created for you, from your photographs, by Joanne Bingham.

Welcome to my website, and I hope that you like my work.

I have always been passionate about drawing and painting animals. Working from photographs can create a detailed, lifelike image.

Each piece is a unique work of art which takes many hours to complete.  I do my best to create a likeness to your animal that is so close that you will find yourself doing a double take as you walk past your painting.

Watercolours and drawings are presented in an ivory mount ready for framing, and the oil paintings are ready to hang, or can be framed to your taste.

Please take time to enjoy the gallery and don’t hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you.

About the Artist

Joanne originates from the UK, where she spent many years painting animals for both private and commercial clients.

Many years of observing, photographing and sketching animals, combined with a background in illustration have enabled Joanne to create her beautiful, lifelike portraits.  She has honed her skills over the years but feels that of all the media available to artists, it is watercolour that holds the key to mastering the ‘feel’ of an animal.

While most of her work involves animals, Joanne enjoys a challenge, and there have been a few of these.  Among the other subjects that she has painted have been classic cars, aeroplanes, houses and flowers, and of course, people.

She has been delighted to work with Redwings, the Irish Wolfhound Rescue Trust, the Cats Protection League, CatWorks and the ILPH, producing artwork for a number of different projects.

On a more commercial note, she also produced a range of cards, depicting dogs, for Clover Cards, Norfolk.

More recently, she taught art both privately and at West Suffolk College, before upping sticks and emigrating to Townsville, in Queensland, Australia.

Despite the technical difficulties that painting in the heat and humidity presents, Joanne continues to paint and delights in getting to know some more unusual breeds, as well as those she is more familiar with.

She attends the local craft market (Cotters) every Sunday and also aims to attend many of the local and regional equine and dog shows, taking examples of her work with her.

Joanne has work on display at the Gallery on Kings, in Townsville.

Art lessons for all ages and abilities, with Joanne are held at the Blue Art Shop, Townsville.

Testimonials

I was totally delighted when I first saw Jo’s portrait of my Maremma / Border Cross, Zachary.  She has captured his likeness to perfection – not one detail of his expressive face is missing. When I look at the portraits – yes, she also painted my Maremma, Liberty - it’s like I am looking at the “real thing”.

The portraits give me great pleasure and attract lots of comments from visitors. They are treasures!  I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jo to you.

OH MY GOSH!!!! I love it – you have captured him beautifully. Thank you so much!!!

The painting is superb, thank you so much.  You've captured Adam perfectly, especially that bottom lip of his and the placement of him looking outwards in a completely different direction of the other two is so 'him' ... I hadn't thought of it like that but he's right.  Adam has always been an individual.

Hi Jo

The drawing has arrived safely and of course I am totally delighted with it.  Such an amazing likeness, as always, my friend is going to be chuffed to bits when we give it to her.  Thank you so much.

Thanks again.

Very best wishes

Hi Jo, .

I love my painting! Thank you so much for your time and effort!

Really, it's just beautiful, I feel like I can touch him!

...it was also packed very well, so arrived undamaged. And thank you also for including the mat-border, it is going to make framing that much easier.

I'll be recommending you to anyone who may be interested in having their beloved babies immortalised!

Thank you again, and hope to see you about again next year,

Cheers

Dear Jo,

You did a portrait of my horse, Bailey.  I just wanted to let you know how much I love what you have done.  Over the internet it must be frustrating to not see the reaction of your clients, so I just wanted to let you know how I feel.  I want you to know that when I received this portrait, I was in tears.  You have captured My beautiful boy and his gentle eye.  Thank you.

Denise/ Victoria.

Hi Jo

What a wonderfully talented artist you are.
